I can definitely confirm that Death's Step in the Eastern Plaugelands is a great place to farm silk cloth. It helps that the mobs are in groups of three. In each group there are two Death's Step Putrefiers (casters) and one Death's Step Miscreation Death's Step Miscreation. I have gotten a decent amount of silk cloth by farming here.
